How it works:
We use the Sciton ClearScan to reduce unwanted hair. The ClearScan uses the most up to date robotic technology that is computer guided for the fastest and most effective laser hair treatment. ClearScan can rapidly treat an area up to 30 mm by 30 mm each time resulting in very fast treatments.

The laser emits a high energy that passes safely through the skin to the hair follicle. The hair follicle absorbs the laser light, converts it into heat and this disables the hair follicle. This process damages the hair follicle and therefore the hair's ability to grow. Lasers are only effective for targeting hair that is in the growth phase and since there are three phases in the hair cycle - means that more than one session is usually required in order to get all the hairs. An average of 3-5 treatments is usually required for most clients.

How does laser removal work?
Laser works by targeting the color (melanin) in the hair and damaging the follicle. The damaged hair follicle can no longer produce hair. Laser hair removal can be used on all parts of the body including but not limited to face, underarms, back, bikini, legs, and arms.

Does the treatment hurt?
With the sapphire-cooling tip of the ClearScan, treatments are very well tolerated and there is minimal discomfort if any.

What should I expect after a treatement?
Some redness and a small amount of swelling may occur. This should go away within a few hours. A sunscreen of least SPF 15 should be used if outdoors. As the hair grows back, you should notice a reduction of about 15-20 percent after each treatment.

How many treatments will I need?
Usually 3-5 treatments approximately 5 to 8 weeks apart. There are three phases of hair growth - anagen, categen, and telogen. Only hairs in the growth or anagen phase can be treated and destroyed.

Can ingrown hairs be treated?
The infrared energy is used to remove all types of hair. "Shaving bumps" can sometimes cover a hair follicle, but the penetrating light of the ClearScan can still be safely used.
